Do we have a “human nature”? Cats behave like cats, right? Dogs behave like dogs. What do humans behave like?

These are the sorts of questions which were buzzing around my head when I started studying for a PhD in Psychology when I was in my mid-40s at the University of Exeter in the English country of Devon.
